Summer Reading Program for Children: Libraries Rock!
Children of all ages are encouraged to join this year’s Library Summer Reading Program, “Libraries Rock”! The program encourages kids to keep up their reading skills over the summer and to visit the library to find new, exciting books to read. Drop by the Library on or after June 23 to pick up Summer Reading Program materials, reading-related goodies, and a schedule of fun summer programs.
Summer programs will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 3-4 pm, June 27 through August 14. Programs, in keeping with the “Libraries Rock” theme include instrument-making, music from India, a dance party, a sing-along and workshops led by musicians playing the accordion, ukulele, guitar and drums.
Summer Reading Program for Adults: Reading Bingo!
This summer, the Library will also sponsor a reading program for adults, encouraging grown-up folks to read at least 4 books during June, July and August. Everyone who participates will be treated to a wine, cheese and chocolates party at the end of the summer, where you can share all your favorite books with friends and neighbors! So drop by the Library on or after June 23 to pick up your Summer Reading Bingo sheet!
Special Summer Exhibit: Music in Ashfield
In conjunction with the “Libraries Rock!” Summer Reading theme, the Library will host a special exhibit from June to August on music in Ashfield! We want something of YOURS for the exhibit! We welcome anything music-related (instruments, posters, concert souvenirs, etc) that you are willing to display. Please drop off items throughout June for the summer display!
