September at the Library
Saturday Storytimes for Families with Young Children are starting again!
September 8, 15, 22 and 29 @ 10:30 a.m.
September is Library Card Sign-up Month!
Bring a Friend to the Library!
It has been rumored that some folks in town do not have a library card and, therefore, do not yet have free access to books, magazines, DVDs, audiobooks, music CDs, eBooks and museum passes at Belding Memorial Library. This precious and useful commodity, a free library card, also provides access to 150 additional libraries in our Central & Western MA Automated Regional System known as C/W MARS.
So during September, if a friend or neighbor does not have a library card, invite them to visit the library with you and pick one up. Your library card may end up being the most important card in your wallet, saving you money and offering you something new and wonderful to do all year long!
What’s New with OverDrive?? Free Magazines!
The first wave of 50 magazines is now available in the C/W MARS OverDrive catalog. You can access them either through Libby or through the OverDrive app. They can be read online or downloaded for offline reading.
The magazines are all purchased under a “simultaneous use” agreement. This means every magazine is always available. There’s no waiting! Anyone who wants to read a magazine can read one right away.
OverDrive has even set up a special “Magazine Room” for patrons to go to the magazines without searching through the catalog: cwmars.overdrive.com/collection/184768
You can read a sample from any magazine before borrowing.
To read stories to toddlers and preschoolers at Saturday morning storytimes.
To help with the Raffle and Book Sale fundraisers at Fall Festival in October.
To Sue Fuller, Esther Coler, Lui Collins, Bob Markey, Peter Wildermuth, Isabella DeHerdt, Jean Chernack, Cynthia Mangsen, Will Sussbauer and Nancy Hoff for their time, talent and help in making the “Library Rocks” Summer Children’s Reading Program a huge success!!
